You have been placed into groups, and your task is to identify a problem in our school, community, county, state, nation or in the world. Once your group identifies a problem, your job is to convince your audience that this problem needs to be corrected AND you will also present SOLUTIONS!

"Making a Difference" Project Breakdown~
Week One: April 13-17, 2015
- Groups meet~greet
- Groups brainstorm possible topics that everyone would like to "conquer" and also possible solutions to your problem.
- Decide on the group "problem" and submit it and your solution to the teacher using a Google form. (one entry per group) I will "share" the form with you before this activity.
- Group will brainstorm (participation grades) to identify who would be affected by the problem; who would have a "vested" interest in your topic. Group will agree on the "Target group" and will direct survey questions to a specific audience.
- Week Two: April 20-24, 2015
- Research your topic. You must have a minimum of five sources. One source must be a book. Make sure you "document" all resources. Each person must have five sources and each person must submit a Works Cited page. If you do not cite your sources, it will be considered as plagerism. Resources are due April 24th, 2015.
- Create survey questions to poll staff, students and community to collect valuable data. (What do you need to know in order to make a necessary change?) Each group member will contribute a minimum of two survey questions . This will be a quiz grade. Due April 23rd, 2015.
- Create a survey using Google. Survey is due by *April 29th, 2015. You must also share link with teacher to post on web page. (see link at the top of the page if you are struggling to create one!)
- Encourage people to take your group survey, so you have valuable data; this information make cause you to look at your topic in a different light and it may inspire you to take a completely different route than what you previously thought. Be open minded!
- Group will create a Weebly site, and you will post survey on your group site. You will also share link with teacher, who will post your link on class web site. Weebly site must be created by Wednesday, April 29th, 2015.
- Incorporate survey data into your group presentation (on Prezi)
- Continue to brainstorm possible solutions. How are you going to achieve your goal?
- Develop an invitation and flyer for the MAD presentations on . You must develop an online invitation that you can send via email. Must be be submitted by
- Identify key people that you could interview to provide insight into your problem, and/or that would provide a possible solution. Each group member will write a minimum of two interview questions. Interview questions are due to teacher by April 28th, 2015. (Quiz grade) They cannot be the same questions that you submitted for your survey.
- Create a Prezi ( Your presentation that you will share with class, other teachers, and guests). Each group member is responsible for his/her portion of the Prezi. You will use this tool to deliver your presentation! As a group, you will collaborate on ONE presentation with four -six categories.
- Schedule & conduct interview(s) . Everyone will participate in at least ONE interview! This will count as a quiz grade!
- As soon as you have scheduled your interview, please email the following information to me: a) Who are you interviewing? b) Where is the interview going to take place? c) What day and time will the interview be conducted?
- Video the interview to embed into your presentation. The teacher will check out a Bloggie from the library for you to use if you are conducting an on-site interview. Otherwise, you will have you use your own technology (your cell phone video camera).
- Upload your video into your Google account via YouTube.
- Embed video into your Prezi presentation. (Presentations need to be around ten minutes!
- Groups will collaborate on the final presentation.
Week Five: May 11-15, 2015
- Each group member will be responsible for his/her portion of the final presentation and will have to "present" his/her slides, share information and write a speech delivering his/her portion of the information. Your speech will be roughly two - two and a half minutes long.
